The Black Forest is characterised by the constant interplay of small green valleys, steep gorges and thickly wooded slopes. No other region in central Europe has so much diversity in the landscape yet is so unmistakable as the Black Forest. Its geographical function as the largest watershed in Europe also ensures that there is a magnificent variety of small streams, idyllic lakes and impressive waterfalls.
Lake Titisee
Lake Titisee is the most popular holiday destination in the entire Black Forest, and is just eight kilometres away from Waldhotel Fehrenbach.
Wutach gorge
The steep cliffs and the path through the undergrowth of the gorge are some of the most beautiful natural wonders in the entire region.
Schluchsee
Schluchsee is the big brother of Lake Titisee. The lake and the health resort of the same name are just 20km south of the hotel.
Upper Black Forest Aficionado Trail
The Aficionado Trail contains 47 circular trails which have been certified as premium hiking trails by the German Hiking Institute.
Feldberg
At 1,493 metres, the Feldberg is the highest point in the Black Forest and is an attraction for hikers, cyclists and for tobogganing and skiing in winter.
Todtnauer Waterfall
The waterfall formed by glacial ice is an impressive 97 m high, and flows down over several spectacular steps.

Cycling
You'll soon get to know the area around Hinterzarten like the back of your hand on the move on a bike or e-bike.
Hiking
Concentrating on nothing but you own steps and taking in the nature around you. Hiking is meditation!
Climbing
Be it on Scheibenfelsen, the Adlerschanze or at the “Hilde” boulder climbing location - the area is blessed with numerous popular climbing opportunities.

Culture
The Black Forest is undoubtedly one of the most culturally interesting regions throughout Europe. There are few locations where the traditions and heritage of the times have lasted as well as they have here in south west Germany. You can look forward to many of beautiful and educational moments in the museums in the area or go on a sightseeing tour through the picturesque villages and towns of the region. Vogtsbauernhof Open-Air Museum
Visitors will get an impression of the lives of people throughout the history of the Black Forest at the Open-Air Museum.
Clock Museum
The German Clock Museum in Furtwangen is only a 30 minute drive away and is a real pilgrimage for clock enthusiasts.
Railway Museum
The region is a paradise for toy collectors with Märklin World in Titisee, the Railway Museum in Schramberg and the Toy Museum in Hinterzarten.
